Support a NEW program at Seaholm High School
Hello, my name is Grace Shenefelt. I am a sophomore at Seaholm High School. I am starting a LINKS at Lunch program at my school. This would be a program in which general-education students would visit the ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) classrooms during their lunch period. The students would interact with the ASD students, build friendships to last a lifetime, play games, teach as well as learn, and have fun! This interaction is a crucial part of the students' lives. It teaches both the ASD and gen-ed students necessary life skills such as accepting one another's differences, social skills, inclusiveness, and much more.
Funds raised will go toward the LINKS program to purchase new interactive learning materials, and support items for the kids. In the future, I plan to incorporate STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) into this program. We will create activities we can do and the ASD students can take home their finished projects to show off their hard work. Over the past three years, I have raised money for various causes instead of receiving birthday gifts. I have donated $1,500 to The Baldwin Center as well as $1,800 and $2,500 to The Friendship Circle. This year, I would like to raise at least $3,000 for Seaholm LINKS!
We are raising money through iMatter for Kids 501 (c)(3) so that 100% of the funds raised will go toward this program and it's a tax deductible donation.
I hope that you'll assist me in making this dream a reality!
